The duo of Sipe and Junior C will host the 2015 edition of the Urban Music Party (UMP) Festival. The 4th edition of the UMP Festival takes place on Sunday, November 8, at the BAT Ground in Blantyre.

The event, held by Nde’feyo Entertainment, is the celebration of urban music and culture in Malawi.

Unveiling the two as hosts, Nde’feyo Entertainment co-director Khumbo Munthali in a statement observes that Sipe and her partner make a distinctive and exciting pair to anchor the urban show.

Sipe, real name Siphelire Chitambo, is a former Big Brother Africa (BBA) Malawian housemate and is regarded as one of the most stylish female celebrities in Malawi. She is also a musician and actress.

Junior C, born Mphatso Chaluluka, is not new to UMP. The television/radio personality and rapper has hosted previous UMP events.

“The two have a thing in common, which adds value to the event. Junior C brings his experience and command to the show, while Sipe adds elegance.

“We were also looking for gender balance as well as that Blantyre-Lilongwe connection and they are both performers in their respective standings,” says Munthali.

The 2015 UMP Festival celebrations will start with a pre-party Saturday night at the Blue Elephant where music artists Diktator, Bucci and Trumel are scheduled to perform.

Guest artist, Chimzy Kelly from Zambia, and several local artists billed to perform at the main event will also make a greet and meet appearance at the Blue Ele party.

The event on Sunday will start at 10am and features star-studded performers Chimzy Kelly and Malawi’s own Gwamba, Diktator, Fredokiss, Piksy, Sangie, BarryOne, Bucci, Blakjak, King Jillz & Josh, Home Grown African, Sonye, Martse, Janta, Mafo, Trap Squad, Young Kay, Tech Dali and Daredevilz.
